What is appendix?

An Appendix is a tube or worm like structure that exists at the juncture of the small and large intestine. To be precise, it is connected to the cecum, which is a pouch-like structure of the large intestine or the colon.

It is medically termed Vermiform Appendix. The average length of the human appendix is 9 cm. Anatomically it is usually located in the right side of lower abdomen near the right hip bone.

Abscess in Appendix
